I came across a post in an American Educator’s Blog that puts it into perspective.
Web 2.0 is the future of education

In America there are already Social Networking Sites for teachers using this collaborative technology.
For the more technically minded try this.
And a more general video here.
In the UK I’ve stumbled across one or two people who write terrific blogs about
their explorations with some of this new technology in the Primary classroom.
There may well be many more and the number of people exploring is more than the number of people writing about it.

And there are people with an overview who lecture about it.
There are many more but this will get you started. There’s a more comprehensive list of starting points in the EDU Blogs Menu on the left.
There’s a an ongoing list of online collaborative tools to try, just click on the onlinetools tag.
But the big question of how schools incorporate Social Networking Tools into Teaching and Learning is the present debate.
Only yesterday a blog in Australia that had teacher mentors from all over the world involved with a class, was closed down by the National government.
A personal question I have
Is the Internet the VLE or is the VLE the VLE?
It’s ever changing and developing. This is but a snapshot on the 15th March 2008.
Try this from a recent ICT Conference, reported by Doug Dickinson looking at the more global perspective.
