The days of struggling to organise your bookmarks are fast moving from your own computer, to the web. The advent of Tags make them a lot easier to organise. Web based bookmarks are really useful if you use more than one computer or you want to share your bookmarks with other people. This is where the social bookmarking comes in. You can set up an account that everyone contributes too or you can network individual accounts within the various social bookmarking sites.
You may have an idea of what is talked about here or not.

Let’s take a look at list of Bookmarking Sites

All these sites provide a way of storing your bookmarks online, so you can access them from anywhere, on any machine.
They also allow you to your list share them with others.
If you look at any number of blogs and websites you will see some or all of these icons, allowing you to bookmark what you are reading.
Let’s look at just one of these social bookmarking sites in some detail.
Notice the Icon
this is what you see in so many places.
Sometimes they are found under a share label. This one from the Guardian.
The first thing to do is to register an account.
So give yourself a username and password and you’re set. You can actually create multiple accounts using the same e-mail address, so if you want to keep your school stuff separate from your other life, you can.
Part Two is install the buttons on your browser Bookmarks Bar that make it easy to add a bookmark to your del.icio.us and view all your bookmarks on del.icio.us.
That’s right, two buttons.
One to add bookmarks.
One to see all the bookmarked, bookmarks.
This is for Safari.
These are the instructions for Firefox.
There’s a post here for why Del.icio.us is useful
