This has been obvious to me for the ten years I have been struggling with
the madness of the crowded Primary Curriculum.
Singapore has often been held up as something to emulate, particularly in the context
of maths. Our Primary Review is beginning to point in this direction, I think, perhaps but can the policy makers adjust to it’s findings. Only time will tell.
Our much vaunted renewed Primary Framework (Literacy) makes a point of not reducing the number of objectives, you”ve still got to go back and look at the original framework) just to take a recent example.
There was no streamlining as far as I can see as yet.
